Warts

"Viral Warts" is skin disease caused by virus infection, the source of the virus is the Human Papilloma Virus(HPV). The virus is spread through human-human contact. HPV has various types, "Viral Wart" appear at the skin is one of those infection on deramatosis, it is irrelevant to the veneral disease infected by sexual contact.

Common affected area: face, neck, back of the hands and 4 limbs.

Plane warts is one of the most common types of warts. The virus appear everywhere in the surroundings. We will easily get infected particularly when there is wound on skin or when the internal immune system is weakened due to sickness or pregnancy.

 
 
Impact of Warts:
  1. After the Warts infection, there will be flesh-color or light brown rough texture tiny spots appear on the skin with clear boundaries.
  2. Though Warts do not have direct impact on health, it is infectious and can spread to others.
  3. The number of Warts can be increased and the warts can be accumulated if it is not treated properly.
  4. There is greater chance to spread the virus to the frequently contact people. People with weaker immune system especially children and elderly will easily be infected, therefore it is advisable to remove the Warts with proper treatment.
  5. There will be wound and the chance of post inflammation-hyperpigmentation (PIH) after the treatment, it is much safe to proceed the treatment by the professional doctor.
 
Treatment:
  1. Carbon Dioxide Laser treatment:
    Its wavelength of 10600nm can remove the Warts tissue precisely with once or twice treatment, this treatment is specially used to tackle for the Warts which appear on the face.
  2. Curettage:
    It is the way to remove the wart tissue by "surgery knife".
  3. Cryosurgery:
    It is the spray liquid nitrogen with low temperature to damage the Wart tissues and them to peel off. This method works best especially at the hand, foot and larger part of body which suffering from the Warts.
  4. Topical medication:
    Apply the acidic medicine (retinoic acid or salicylic acid) to smoothen the warts. However, it require longer time for the treatments and the effect is much slower.
 
Attention of Post-treatment:
  1. Avoid using cleanser or skin care product with irritative substances.
  2. Use the disinfect medicine prescribe by the doctor to clean the wound and apply with anti-inflammatory cream afterwards.
  3. The wounds will form a crust and the crust will come off in 5-7 days automatically. To avoid leaving a scar, remember don't pull the crust away by hands before it come off.
